Southampton Civic Centre

The Southampton Civic Centre is a historic landmark that has stood at the heart of the city for over 80 years.

Over time, the building had become unfit for modern use — with underperforming M&E systems, deteriorating fabric, and an outdated office layout that created cost inefficiencies and limited productivity.

Following a comprehensive three-year refurbishment, the Grade II* Listed Civic Centre once again stands as a majestic municipal building serving Southampton and its community. The transformation enables the Council and its staff to deliver services efficiently and effectively, while preserving the site’s heritage.

The upgrade also allowed the Council to rationalise its estate from seven buildings to three, providing a flexible, future-proof, and cost-efficient workspace designed for long-term operational success.
