Health, Safety and Wellbeing

Providing the best working environment and safest practices in the sector.

We’re committed to ensuring the physical and mental health, safety and wellbeing of our people and stakeholders. It’s central to everything we do.

We’re proud of our industry-leading injury and accident record, as well as the steps we’ve taken to improve wellbeing in every sense, and to cultivate a healthy, happy workforce.

Zero Harm Campaign

We’re Safer Together

Our commitment to safety is embedded in our ‘We’re Safer Together’ programme – an award-winning engagement and learning initiative launched in 2016.

Since its launch, our safety performance has improved dramatically: our accident frequency rate has fallen by 71%, while our lost time injury rate has decreased by 77%. This demonstrates our relentless focus on keeping everyone – employees, partners, and communities – safe on every project.

Award-Winning Programmes

Industry-leading health and safety

Our ‘Lead the Change!’ and ‘Drive the Change!’ leadership development and behavioural safety programmes, delivered alongside our ‘We’re Safer Together’ campaign, won Health and Safety Solution of the Year at the 2019 London Construction Awards.

Recognition for excellence

Our specialist engineering services division has also been recognised multiple times by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), reflecting our unwavering safety-first approach and industry-leading standards.

Every Mind Matters

At Claywatt, we believe mental health in the workplace is just as vital as physical health. We have created a range of initiatives that promote positive wellbeing, resilience and balance for our people.

Our trained Mental Health First Aiders are available to listen and provide confidential support for colleagues facing challenges such as depression, bereavement, financial pressures, anxiety, stress, personal relationships, domestic issues, or suicidal thoughts.

We also promote awareness campaigns that encourage open conversations around mental health, reduce stress and fatigue, and champion healthy work–life balance. Our commitment is to ensure every individual feels valued, supported and empowered to thrive.
