Embracing a new way of working
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, hybrid working has reshaped the way people use office spaces.
In response, Claywatt has supported customers in transforming their workspaces, embracing new ways of working and enhancing office environments to maximise the value of office-based time.
Lloyds Banking Group is leading this change at Harbourside, creating an inviting and collaborative workspace with a wide range of on-site facilities for colleagues to enjoy.
Claywatt transformed the Harbourside space in just 13 weeks with a full Cat B fit-out, including full LD light, power and data cabling, access floor, new mechanical installation, and complete floor decoration, all in keeping with the contemporary design throughout. We also created a café and gym, significantly upgrading the existing facilities.
After the project was finished, one of our team members was awarded Project Manager of the Year by the customer, demonstrating the excellent level of service we provided.
Harbourside encourages employees to embrace office working by providing a productive atmosphere where their wellbeing is considered. It also reflects the city of Bristol that surrounds it; a local artist was commissioned to create graffiti artwork on the lockers in the centre of the building, adding a touch of vibrancy to what is traditionally a featureless space.

Building social value into our projects
We care about communities and are passionate about making a difference to the lives of those around us, a value we share with Lloyds Banking Group. At Harbourside, we spent £35,000 of our project budget with one of our longest-established social enterprise partners, Recycling Lives, which works to change lives through offender rehabilitation, residential support, and food distribution.
We also adopt sustainable practices wherever possible to reduce waste and carefully consider our environmental impact at every stage. During this project, we resold or donated over 8,000 carpet tiles. Of these, more than 1,700 were donated during Community Donation Days to community groups and local low-income families, while the remaining carpet tiles were provided to Public Health Wales, Newport City Homes, and Hafod Housing.
