A redevelopment project focused on the area around Abbey Road and Belsize Road in Kilburn, London.
Located just up the road from the iconic studios and zebra crossing forever associated with The Beatles, the Abbey Area redevelopment centres around the junction of Abbey Road and Belsize Road in Camden, North London.
Initial consultations for this housing-led mixed-use scheme began with residents and community organisations in 2008. Phase 1, completed in February 2019, saw the demolition of an underused multi-storey car park to make way for 141 new homes and additional commercial space.
The development includes 75 homes for private sale, 66 for affordable rent, 10 wheelchair-adapted units, retail and commercial spaces, and a 52-space underground car park.
These much-needed, high-quality homes were delivered through a remarkable engineering effort on a constrained site, bordered by the West Coast Mainline and Abbey Road on two sides.
