Procured through the Crown Commercial Services (CCS) Construction and Associated Services Agreement, which enables all public sector bodies to commission the construction and maintenance of schools, hospitals, universities, prisons, housing, and offices, Claywatt began the first phase of works in February 2022.
We successfully completed five subsequent phases by April 2023, delivering high-quality construction and maintenance services across multiple sites.
Phase 1
Phase 1 of the project involved the phased strip-out and refurbishment of the existing Pathology department across levels A and B at Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital.
The works were designed to accommodate revolutionised lab equipment, enhancing haematology, biochemistry, cellular pathology, and microbiology services, while increasing capacity to meet growing NHS demand.
Additional improvements included new office, meeting, and storage spaces for key consultants, ramp access for deliveries, and an overall improved aesthetic.
Despite the hospital remaining operational, Claywatt implemented a meticulous phasing strategy to ensure no disruption to department activities or building services, delivering the project safely and efficiently.
